Im in PA and just bought some and they didnt tax me on them.

I’ve been into many coin stores where I knew I wasn’t wanted in there. My wife and I own a commercial cleaning and janitorial company and we still work in the field at some very dirty places and between jobs if there’s a coin store we stop and sometimes I might not look like a model customer wearing the nicest clothes. The funniest thing I’ve ran into was, I should know what I want before I came in there or the I’m not here to teach you about coins. This is the main reason younger people won’t walk into these places and why I don’t like it either. There is a local guy to me and he is really nice and helpful so at least there one near me.

I enjoy the coin talk and his observations about numismatics, but he should take the exit ramp when talking politics.

Yeah I can hear the difference. The fake ones have a harsh high tone. I'd almost say like a sawtooth wave. The real silver one sounds more like a bell

Im new to coins but I’ve always saved silver just never got into buying nicer stuff and still I’m so nervous about having a worthless collection that when I buy I try and stay close to spot on silver unless it’s graded and cheap. I bought graded Eagles that were $40 so they were over spot but not much. I don’t clad or copper anything and only buy silver and gold and it has to be 90%, .999 or 22k/24k gold. I have bought proof sets that have an Olympic medal but it’s silver and only paid spot and proof set with 40% halves that was under spot on the half. I’m so worried about having a worthless collection.

I want to be clear that the art/design being done these days is spegtacular(pun intended). However, I just cannot justify the premiums that some draw.I do not stack for collectability, I collect as investment. So getting in as cheap as possible is always my goal. My investing in collectability is on the numismatic side of this particular game. I would rather pay up for a CC Morgan dollar than an art bar/round.
